Clinical Application

This nasal rasp is intended for controlled contouring and smoothing of bony and cartilaginous irregularities within the nasal vault. It is commonly used intraoperatively to refine dorsal humps, smooth sharp edges after osteotomy or septal resection, and perform fine contouring of septal or nasal bones during rhinoplasty and septoplasty procedures. The rasp allows incremental material removal with tactile feedback, enabling precise shaping where osteotomes or rasps are indicated.

Design & Configuration

The elongated shaft provides reach into the nasal vault and septal recesses while maintaining a comfortable hand position for the surgeon. The textured working surface on the tip is arranged to abrade and reduce small amounts of bone or cartilage in a controlled fashion. The manual rasp configuration favors gradual contouring and minimizes the risk of large, uncontrolled bone fragments, making it suitable for final intraoperative refinement and smoothing of irregularities.
