Clinical Application
This long-shank adenotome is intended for controlled removal of adenoidal tissue during adenoidectomy procedures. Its reach and cutting geometry facilitate access to the nasopharyngeal vault via transoral approach, enabling precise tissue excision while minimizing blind instrumentation and reducing operative time in routine pediatric and ENT cases.
Design & Configuration
The Fig.2 configuration combines a slender shaft with an unperforated distal cutting blade to provide a smooth, contiguous cutting edge that reduces tissue snagging. The 25 cm overall length gives sufficient reach for operators to engage adenoidal tissue at depth while maintaining tactile feedback and control of blade trajectory and bite. The unperforated tip produces a clean shearing action, useful when a continuous cutting surface is preferred over fenestrated designs.
