Clinical Application

This compact retractor is intended to provide controlled exposure of the alar rim, nostril vestibule, and adjacent soft tissues during nasal procedures. It is commonly used in open and closed rhinoplasty, septorhinoplasty, nasal reconstruction, cleft nasal repair and minor nasal procedures where precise, atraumatic retraction of the ala and nostril margin is required. The small footprint and refined tip allow direct visualization and access to the alar cartilage and soft tissues without obstructing the surgical field.

Design & Configuration

The instrument's short 10 cm length balances reach with tactile control for one-handed manipulation at the external nasal framework. A narrow shaft and spatulated, atraumatic tip are configured to evert and retract the alar margin with minimal tissue compression, which preserves soft-tissue planes and suture access.
