Clinical Application
This bivalve nasal speculum is intended to provide atraumatic lateral retraction of the nasal vestibule and anterior nasal cavity to improve visualization and access during ENT examinations and minor procedures. It is commonly used in outpatient clinics, procedure rooms, and operating suites for inspection of the septum and turbinates, removal of foreign bodies, cautery or packing for epistaxis, and for assisting endoscopic or microscopic nasal procedures.
Design & Configuration
The two-blade (bivalve) geometry delivers symmetric lateral retraction, creating a widened working corridor through the nostril without obstructing the central line of sight. The 15.0 cm overall length allows access to more anterior and mid-nasal cavity structures while keeping the operator’s hand clear of the surgical field. The hand-held configuration permits dynamic adjustment of exposure during inspection and instrument manipulation.
