Clinical Application
The single-probe Fomon hook is designed to provide precise point contact for atraumatic retraction, probing and manipulation in confined anatomical spaces. Its narrow hook tip is useful for elevating mucosa, identifying and following tracts or planes, retrieving or stabilizing small structures, and providing targeted retraction during ENT, oral/maxillofacial, dental and minor general surgical procedures.
Design & Configuration
The single probe end concentrates force on a small curved tip, giving tactile feedback and controlled engagement with soft tissue. The slender shaft and 17 cm overall length offer reach into deeper cavities while preserving surgeon control at the handle. This geometry makes the instrument well suited for working through small oral and nasal openings, around teeth and within confined operative fields where broad instruments are impractical.
