Clinical Application

Provides controlled, atraumatic retraction of the anterior nasal vestibule and lower nasal cavity to enable direct visualization and access during diagnostic exams and procedures. Common uses include anterior septal inspection and repair, turbinate assessment and reduction, removal of intranasal foreign bodies, nasal packing placement/removal, and facilitation of anterior chamber work in rhinologic and general ENT cases. Its handheld two-blade design makes it suitable for both office-based examinations and operative exposure in the OR.

Design & Configuration

The two-blade hinged geometry opens symmetrically to separate the nostrils and create an unobstructed working corridor to the anterior septum and turbinates. The 75 mm maximum opening provides broad exposure of the nasal vestibule without excessive tissue tension, while the 14 cm overall length offers sufficient reach for anterior intranasal work. A black finish reduces surface reflection under bright operating lights, improving visual contrast of mucosal and structural landmarks. The handheld, hinged arrangement permits fine incremental opening and rapid release for intermittent visualization during procedures.
