Clinical Application
This up-cut antrum punch is intended for controlled removal of small mucosal or bony segments when creating or enlarging access to the maxillary antrum during ENT procedures such as anterior antrostomy and selected endoscopic sinus surgery steps. The 1.0 mm bite size permits precise, incremental tissue excision in confined anatomy and is useful for fine trimming around ostia or creating a small window without large-volume tissue loss.
Design & Configuration
The up-cut geometry produces a cutting action on the upward stroke, providing a predictable shearing vector that helps the surgeon obtain a clean bite while limiting force transmitted to deeper structures. A small 1.0 mm bite allows incremental tissue removal and greater tactile feedback, improving control in narrow operative fields. The punch-style jaws concentrate shearing force at the cutting edge to deliver consistent, low-profile excisions appropriate for delicate antral mucosa and thin bony partitions.
