Clinical Application
This instrument is engineered for removal of adenoid tissue from the nasopharynx during adenoidectomy and related ENT procedures. The 16 mm curette head provides controlled resection and tissue capture for blunt curettage, making it suitable for use in both pediatric and adult cases where precise excision of adenoidal tissue is required. It is used in conjunction with standard suction and visualization techniques to clear obstructive lymphoid tissue and facilitate hemostasis.
Design & Configuration
The long 22 cm shaft gives the operator adequate reach into the nasopharynx while maintaining tactile feedback at the curette tip. The spoon/cup-shaped curette head is sized to balance tissue bite with control, allowing efficient removal of tissue without excessive bulk. The Beckmann Fig.1 pattern reflects a classic curettage geometry optimized for access and maneuverability in the oropharyngeal corridor.
