Clinical Application
This angled curette is designed for the controlled removal of adenoid tissue from the nasopharynx during adenoidectomy and related procedures. The 15 mm scoop facilitates precise excision and tissue curettage under direct visualization or endoscopic assistance. It is suitable for surgeons performing open or transoral approaches to the nasopharynx where targeted removal and limited collateral mucosal trauma are required.
Design & Configuration
The instrument features an angled working end with a 15 mm scoop blade mounted on a 22 cm shaft to provide reach into the nasopharyngeal space while keeping the surgeon's hand clear of the oral cavity. The Beckmann Fig. 2 blade geometry is optimized for a controlled scooping and levering action, allowing the operator to engage and evacuate adenoid tissue with tactile feedback. The angled shaft improves visualization and access compared with straight curettes and helps maintain an effective cutting angle in both pediatric and adult anatomy.
