Clinical Application
This Roux retractor is intended for controlled, atraumatic retraction of superficial soft tissues and wound edges during open procedures. Its blunt, spatulated blades are suited to expose incision sites, fascia, subcutaneous tissue and shallow abdominal cavities without penetrating or crushing delicate tissue. Common applications include general and abdominal surgery, gynecologic procedures, plastic and reconstructive cases, and minor or outpatient operations where fingertip control and low-profile retraction are required.
Design & Configuration
The figure-4 blade profile provides two functional blade orientations from a single instrument, allowing the assistant or surgeon to deploy the most ergonomically favorable edge for the exposure. The double-ended, handheld configuration supports precise fingertip positioning and quick intraoperative adjustments, while the rounded, spatulated blades distribute retraction force to minimize point pressure. The 18 cm overall length balances reach with low-profile handling for shallow fields and confined incisions.
