Clinical Application
Designed for atraumatic blunt retraction and exposure in open surgical procedures, this malleable ribbon retractor is used to hold back soft tissue, fascia, and small organs to create a stable operative field. The narrow 9 mm blade profile and 200 mm length provide a low-profile option for deep or narrow incisions where controlled retraction and visualization are required. Common applications include general surgery, vascular access, plastic and reconstructive work, and other procedures that benefit from a contourable, flat retractor.
Design & Configuration
The flat ribbon geometry distributes pressure over a wider area than a pointed instrument, reducing focal tissue compression. Because the blade is malleable, the surgeon can contour the instrument intraoperatively to follow patient anatomy or to create a custom curve for improved exposure. The 9 mm width offers a balance between surface area for blunt retraction and a slim profile to minimize obstruction of the operative field, while the 200 mm length provides reach into moderate-depth wounds.
