Clinical Application
This right-oriented, serrated atrial retractor is designed to provide secure exposure of the right atrium and adjacent intracardiac structures during open cardiac procedures. Typical uses include atriotomy exposure, cannulation assistance, valve repair and replacement, septal defect visualization and suture placement. The serrated blade helps maintain tissue position and minimizes slippage during manipulation and suturing.
Design & Configuration
The right-handed geometry orients the blade to follow standard anatomical approaches to the right atrium, allowing the surgeon to retract tissue laterally while preserving access to the operative field. The 45x48 mm blade provides a broad contact area to distribute retraction force, and the serrations enhance grip on delicate atrial tissue. A 21.5 cm overall length gives sufficient reach from the chest wall into the mediastinum while keeping the surgeon's hands clear of the exposure site.
