Clinical Application
Designed to provide sustained exposure of the deep pelvis and lower abdomen, this retractor supports soft-tissue and organ retraction during open colorectal, anorectal, gynecologic and urologic procedures. The two blade sizes allow the assistant or primary surgeon to select broad-surface retraction for improved visualization of pelvic anatomy or a narrower blade for working in confined spaces such as the deep pelvis or low rectum. Common intraoperative uses include exposure for low anterior resection, abdominoperineal resection, transanal and transabdominal pelvic dissections, and other procedures requiring controlled, atraumatic retraction of pelvic contents.
Design & Configuration
The instrument’s dual-blade configuration places two distinct blade footprints on a single shaft, enabling rapid intraoperative conversion between a wide and a narrow retraction surface without instrument change. The longer 178 x 60 mm blade distributes pressure across a larger surface to reduce focal tissue compression when retracting bulky organs, while the 60 x 45 mm blade provides access in tighter corridors. The 33 cm length reaches deeper pelvic cavities while maintaining a handle length suitable for manual retraction from the operative field.
Instrument Specifications
- Blade sizes: 60 x 45 mm and 178 x 60 mm
- Overall length: 33 cm
- Configuration: Double-ended pelvic retractor
- Intended use: Deep pelvic and anorectal exposure in open surgery
- Construction: Stainless steel, reusable and sterilizable
Material & Construction
Manufactured from surgical-grade stainless steel for durability and repeated sterilization cycles. The solid blade surfaces provide broad contact to minimize tissue trauma during sustained retraction. The instrument is reusable and compatible with standard sterilization protocols for stainless steel surgical instruments.
Quality & Compliance
Manufactured by FDA-registered OEM facilities and produced under strict quality control standards.
Brand Comparison
Comparable in form and function to equivalent instruments offered by major US medical suppliers.
