Clinical Application
Designed for acquisition and retrieval of mucosal tissue from the rectum and lower anorectal canal. Commonly used during diagnostic anoscopy, proctoscopy and minor operative procedures where targeted biopsy of rectal mucosa is required. The instrument allows direct grasping and containment of biopsy specimens for transfer to pathology without additional specimen carriers.
Design & Configuration
The 42 cm shaft length provides reach appropriate for rectal access while maintaining tactile control at the handle. A dedicated handle gives the operator precise actuation and feedback during bite and retrieval. Cup-style biopsy jaws are intended to cut and retain mucosal specimens with minimal manipulation, and the straight single-shaft configuration facilitates passage through anoscopes or introducer tubes used in outpatient and ambulatory settings.
