Clinical Application
Designed for obtaining mucosal and submucosal tissue specimens from the rectum under direct visualization, this instrument is used during proctoscopy, rigid sigmoidoscopy, anoscopy, and select transanal procedures. The cup-style biopsy jaws capture and retain tissue for histopathologic analysis and allow controlled retrieval of small specimens without unnecessary tissue crush.
Design & Configuration
The 42 cm shaft provides sufficient working length to reach rectal targets while remaining manageable through specula or anoscope introducers. An attached handle gives direct tactile feedback and precise manual control of jaw closure, enabling the operator to position the jaws accurately and adapt grip pressure to minimize crush artifact. The cup-shaped biopsy jaws are configured to cup and retain small tissue fragments for reliable specimen delivery to collection containers.
