Clinical Application
Designed to obtain and retrieve mucosal and superficial submucosal biopsy specimens from the rectum via transanal approaches. The instrument is used in outpatient and operative settings through direct visualization (anoscopy/proctoscopy) or alongside endoscopic techniques to secure adequate tissue for histopathology while minimizing tissue fragmentation.
Design & Configuration
The long-shaft geometry provides extended reach into the rectal vault while keeping the operator's hand clear of the surgical field. A 15 mm specimen cup jaw collects larger punch or pinch biopsies, helping to maximize diagnostic yield from a single pass. The slender shaft and controlled jaw action allow precise placement against mucosa and reduce inadvertent compression of adjacent tissue during sampling.
