Clinical Application
Designed to deliver topical agents and provide focal hemostasis deep within the oropharynx and larynx. The long shaft and small cotton pledget allow controlled application of local anesthetic, vasoconstrictors, antibiotics or antiseptics, and permit gentle removal of mucus or blood during office laryngoscopy, transoral procedures and microlaryngoscopy. The 25 cm reach is intended to access the glottic and supraglottic regions while maintaining a comfortable working distance for the operator.
Design & Configuration
The slender, rigid shaft provides tactile control and direct access to deep airway structures without excessive bulk in the oral cavity. A compact cotton pledget at the distal tip concentrates fluid delivery and minimizes spread to surrounding tissues. The length gives adequate reach for adult laryngeal exposure and is compatible with most laryngoscopes and suspension setups where a long, slim applicator is required. Ergonomic handle geometry supports fine motor control for precise placement and gentle wiping motions.
Instrument Specifications

Material & Construction
The instrument uses a corrosion-resistant stainless steel shaft and handle for durability and repeated sterilization cycles. The distal working element is a tightly wound cotton pledget optimized for fluid uptake and controlled delivery. Surfaces are finished to aid cleaning and reduce crevice areas where biological debris could accumulate. Reusable construction supports cost-effective turnarounds in busy ENT clinics and ambulatory surgery centers.
