Clinical Application
Designed for atraumatic exploration and controlled dilation of small lumens and tracts, this Silver-style probe is commonly used in ophthalmic lacrimal procedures (canalicular probing, nasolacrimal duct assessment and intubation), as well as in ENT and minor surgical settings for tract probing or localization of narrow channels and sinuses. The buttoned tip minimizes mucosal trauma and reduces the risk of perforation during advancement.
Design & Configuration
The double-ended configuration provides a second working tip without instrument exchange, improving procedural efficiency. A buttoned tip with a 2 mm profile offers a blunt, rounded leading surface that distributes contact force and reduces snagging on mucosa. The 11.5 cm shaft length gives adequate reach for canalicular and nasolacrimal work while maintaining tactile feedback for precise advancement and localization.
