Clinical Application
Designed for tactile exploration and controlled blunt dissection in confined or deep surgical sites, the chisel-tip probe is used to identify and follow sinus tracts, fistulae, ducts, and small lumens. The 2 mm chisel profile enables gentle separation of delicate tissues, clearing of debris, and creation or dilation of a small channel without sharp cutting action. Typical settings include general surgery, ENT, plastic/reconstructive procedures, and minor procedures where precise probing and tissue manipulation are required.
Design & Configuration
The straight single-ended shaft provides direct transmission of tactile feedback from the tip to the operator’s hand, aiding accurate localization of openings and pathways. The chisel-shaped tip presents a broad, flat bevel that distributes contact pressure and permits controlled levering or scraping motions to free adhesions or open a small tract. The 20 cm overall length gives extended reach into deeper cavities while maintaining sufficient control at the proximal end.
