Clinical Application
This instrument is designed for atraumatic probing and exploration of soft-tissue tracts, canals and lumens where blunt, rounded contact is required. The buttoned tip minimizes risk of perforation or tissue snagging when identifying the depth and direction of sinus tracts, ducts or small cavities, and when advancing drains, guidewires or sutures. Common uses include wound and sinus tract exploration, canal and duct probing, and intraoperative localization where controlled, gentle tactile feedback is essential.
Design & Configuration
The double-ended configuration provides two working ends for versatile access without having to switch instruments mid-procedure. Each end terminates in a 2 mm rounded (buttoned) tip that distributes contact force over a small, blunt surface to reduce focal pressure and tissue trauma. The 20 cm shaft length gives extended reach into deeper tracts while maintaining tactile sensitivity through a slender profile so the operator can feel resistance, direction changes, or obstructions during navigation.
Instrument Specifications
