Clinical Application
Buttoned probes are purpose-built for atraumatic exploration and controlled dilation of narrow lumens, ducts and sinus or fistula tracts. The small 1 mm rounded button tip facilitates safe contact with tissue surfaces and reduces the risk of perforation during negotiation of strictures or passage of guide wires and sutures. This double-ended configuration provides immediate access to an alternate tip diameter or orientation without instrument exchange, making it useful across ophthalmic lacrimal procedures, ENT access, minor soft-tissue exploration, and general surgical applications where blunt probing or lumen assessment is required.
Design & Configuration
The double-ended, buttoned geometry delivers clinical versatility: one end can be used for initial passage and the other for confirmation, reversal or slightly different tactile feedback. The 1 mm rounded button tip distributes contact forces to minimize tissue trauma and snagging while negotiating narrow channels. The 25 cm overall length provides extended reach into deeper tracts or cavities while preserving tactile sensitivity for the operator.
