Clinical Application
Designed for otologic use, this blunt ear hook provides controlled retraction and exposure of the auricle, external auditory canal and adjacent soft tissue during ear procedures. It is useful in microsurgical settings and routine ENT procedures where atraumatic manipulation and clear visualization of the tympanic region are required, including canal work, tympanoplasty assistance, intraoperative canal packing removal, and clinic-based examinations under microscopy.
Design & Configuration
The Fig.3 geometry features a curved, single-point hook with a blunt tip to minimize tissue perforation while offering precise engagement of soft tissue edges. The 14 cm length gives additional reach into the operative field while keeping the operator's hand clear of the microscope view. The slender shaft and defined curve help deliver controlled retraction in confined anatomy of the external auditory canal without obstructing line-of-sight.
