Clinical Application
Designed for otologic and ENT procedures, this blunt ear hook provides controlled, atraumatic retraction and delineation of soft tissue within the external auditory canal and surgical field. It is useful for elevating soft tissue and perichondrium, exposing canal margins, securing tissue edges during microsurgical dissection, and aiding in placement or removal of small packing or graft material under magnification.
Design & Configuration
The blunt hook tip reduces the risk of accidental tissue perforation while allowing precise engagement of soft tissue. At 14 cm overall length the shaft gives the surgeon working reach into the canal or deeper operative sites while maintaining a comfortable handle-to-field distance. The Fig.2 geometry in the Wagener line provides a purpose-built balance between shaft curvature and tip orientation to support controlled retraction in constrained spaces and under the operative microscope.
