Clinical Application
Designed to provide atraumatic access and direct visualization of the external auditory canal and tympanic membrane during routine otologic assessment and minor procedures. Common uses include diagnostic otoscopy, cerumen removal, foreign body access, and as an introducer for suction tips or micro-instruments during microsuction and endoscopic ear work.
Design & Configuration
The Troeltsch pattern features a gently tapered, conical lumen and a smooth rim that facilitates atraumatic insertion and clear visualization of the canal. A graduated set of three sizes accommodates variation in canal diameter across adult and adolescent patients, reducing the need to exchange instruments mid-procedure. The speculum geometry also helps center the visual axis for microscopy or endoscopic inspection.
