Clinical Application
Provides direct visualization of the external auditory canal and tympanic membrane for diagnostic assessment and procedural planning. Common uses include evaluation of otitis externa and media, assessment and documentation of tympanic membrane perforations, inspection for foreign bodies or cerumen impaction, and pre- and post-procedure ear checks in ENT clinics, pediatric offices, and ambulatory surgery centers.
Design & Configuration
The Siegle-style head is supplied as a head-only unit intended to accept detachable ear specula (sold separately). This configuration allows clinicians to select the appropriate speculum size and material for patient anatomy and infection-control protocols. The optical head houses a magnifying lens and an illumination port to provide a focused view of the ear canal; removing the handle and speculum facilitates cleaning and sterilization between patients.
