Clinical Application
Designed for otologic use in clinics, ambulatory surgery centers and ENT practices, this angled curette is intended for removal of cerumen, soft debris and small foreign bodies from the external auditory canal under direct visualization. The 1.5 mm scoop is sized for precise engagement of compacted wax and particulate material while minimizing contact with canal skin and the tympanic membrane. It is suitable for both adult and pediatric applications when used with appropriate technique and visualization.
Design & Configuration
The angled Shapleigh pattern provides an offset working tip that improves line-of-sight and access around canal curvatures compared with straight curettes. The shallow, rounded scoop concentrates force at the leading edge for controlled engagement of wax without excessive traction on delicate canal epithelium. The 13 cm overall length gives reach for posterior and deeper canal regions while enabling the operator to maintain a comfortable grip and fine tactile control.
