Clinical Application
Sharp Martin-style curettes are used to remove soft tissue, granulation, necrotic tissue and small amounts of bone under direct vision. The sharp cutting edge allows controlled curettage for procedures that require precise scraping and debridement, including minor orthopedic and podiatric procedures, dermal lesion excision and wound bed preparation, and a variety of ENT and oral surgery tasks where focused tissue removal is required. The double-ended configuration provides intraoperative versatility without frequent instrument changes.
Design & Configuration
The instrument features sharp, spoon-shaped cutting tips that convert scrape motions into controlled cutting for efficient tissue removal. A 17 cm overall length provides reach into deeper cavities or confined operative fields while maintaining tactile feedback for the surgeon. The double-ended layout gives two working edges in a single instrument, enabling rapid transition between ends for different angles or degrees of aggressiveness during curettage.
