Clinical Application
Designed for direct visualisation of the external auditory canal and tympanic membrane during otologic examination and minor aural procedures. The speculum provides a stable working channel for routine inspection, cerumen removal, microsuction, foreign body removal, and when used in conjunction with an otoscope or operating microscope for diagnostic assessment and minor office-based interventions.
Design & Configuration
The antireflex geometry minimizes glare and internal reflections that can obscure the view of the canal and tympanic membrane, improving contrast and clinician visibility. The conical (funnel) tip creates a controlled, atraumatic entry into the canal and maintains an unobstructed optical pathway while permitting passage of suction tips or other small instruments alongside the scope. The 6.0 mm diameter is sized for secure placement in typical adult external auditory canals, balancing access and patient comfort.
