Clinical Application

Designed for transnasal catheterization of the Eustachian tube and access to the pharyngeal ostium, this instrument is used in ENT clinics and operating rooms to assess tubal patency, insufflate the middle ear, remove or aspirate secretions, and deliver topical agents directly to the Eustachian tube and middle-ear space. It is useful as an adjunct during myringotomy/grommet procedures and for diagnostic or therapeutic tubal dilation workflows.

Design & Configuration

The instrument’s small-bore, single-lumen configuration supports controlled passage through the nasopharynx to the Eustachian tube orifice while minimizing mucosal trauma. A fine atraumatic tip reduces the risk of injury at the pharyngeal ostium and facilitates atraumatic engagement of the tubal lumen. The length and angulation are arranged to permit a transnasal approach with direct alignment to the tube, improving procedural control for the operator and enabling precise insufflation or instillation.
