Clinical Application
Designed to provide atraumatic access and a clear visual corridor into the external auditory canal and tympanic membrane. The funnel-shaped opening stabilizes and centers the viewing field, supporting diagnostic otoscopy and minor in-office ENT procedures such as cerumen removal, suctioning, and foreign body extraction. The 7.5 mm aperture is intended for use in mid-to-large diameter ear canals where an increased working channel is required.
Design & Configuration
The straight, conical geometry directs illumination and instruments toward the tympanic membrane while minimizing contact with the canal walls. A flared distal rim helps retract soft tissue gently and maintains a predictable field of view. The Fig. 4 profile denotes a specific Hartmann pattern optimized for consistent orientation and tactile feedback during handheld or speculum-mounted examination.
Instrument Specifications
- Pattern: Hartmann, Fig. 4
- Opening diameter: 7.5 mm
- Shape: Funnel / conical, flared distal rim
- Primary use: Diagnostic otoscopy and minor ear procedures
- Construction: Single-piece metal speculum suitable for repeated reprocessing
Material & Construction
Manufactured from surgical-grade stainless steel to withstand repeated cleaning and sterilization cycles while maintaining dimensional stability and a smooth, atraumatic edge profile. The single-piece construction reduces joints where debris can accumulate and simplifies reprocessing.
Quality & Compliance
Manufactured by FDA-registered OEM facilities and produced under strict quality control standards.
Brand Comparison
Comparable in form and function to equivalent instruments offered by major US medical suppliers.
