Clinical Application
Designed to provide atraumatic visualization and controlled access to the external auditory canal and tympanic membrane, this Hartmann ear speculum is used in diagnostic otoscopy and minor clinic or procedure-room interventions such as cerumen removal, targeted suctioning, and introduction of small instruments for inspection or treatment. The 4 mm aperture is intended for smaller canals or applications requiring a narrower working channel while maintaining a clear line of sight.
Design & Configuration
The conical tubular geometry funnels light and sight toward the tympanic membrane, improving visualization while minimizing soft-tissue contact. A flared outer rim provides a stable seating at the canal entrance and helps control insertion depth to reduce the risk of inadvertent canal trauma. Smooth, rounded edges on the tip lower patient discomfort during examination and manipulation.
