Clinical Application
Designed for controlled irrigation and aspiration of the external auditory canal, this Hartmann ear catheter is used to remove cerumen, debris and purulent material and to deliver topical solutions during clinic- and OR-based ENT procedures. It is suitable for use with syringes for manual irrigation or with low-pressure suction lines when suction-adapted. The rigid nozzle provides precise directional flow under direct visualization, helping to protect the tympanic membrane while clearing the canal.
Design & Configuration
The instrument's rigid hollow shaft with a precision nozzle permits targeted fluid delivery and removal, which is important when working in the confined geometry of the ear canal. The slender, smooth profile facilitates passage into the canal while minimizing obstruction of the visual field. A hand-held design gives the operator tactile control of irrigation pressure and direction for safe, effective cleaning or medicament application.
