Clinical Application
Provides a controlled view and access to the external auditory canal and tympanic membrane for diagnostic otoscopy and minor in-office ear procedures. The 8.2 mm opening is suited for medium to large external auditory canals and supports tasks such as visualization of the tympanic membrane, targeted cerumen removal, suctioning under magnification, and minor instrumentation during clinic- or OR-based ear care.
Design & Configuration
The conical, flared geometry centers and stabilizes the canal while creating a clear line of sight to the tympanic membrane. A flared distal rim helps distribute contact pressure and reduces localized trauma to canal skin during insertion and manipulation. The rigid construction maintains lumen patency during use and facilitates precise instrument passage or suctioning through the speculum when working under microscopy or with magnified otoscopy.
