Clinical Application
Designed for controlled blunt uterine evacuation, this scoop is used to remove retained products of conception, decidual tissue, or other intrauterine material where blunt instrumentation is preferred over sharp curettage. The blunt spoon tip allows the operator to gather tissue with tactile feedback, supporting controlled removal while minimizing sharp-tissue cutting. It is used in gynecologic and obstetric procedures in which aspiration is not indicated or as an adjunct to other evacuation techniques.
Design & Configuration
The long 42 cm shaft provides extended reach for deeper uterine cavities and postpartum applications where additional length is required. The straight shaft with a blunt, spoon-shaped tip permits a scooping motion to collect tissue with controlled pressure rather than sharp scraping. This geometry helps the clinician maintain orientation within the uterine cavity and obtain larger samples of tissue with fewer instrument passes.
