Clinical Application
Designed for obstetric use during the third stage of labour, this curved placenta forceps is used to grasp and extract the placenta and retained membranes safely and efficiently. The tip geometry provides a secure, atraumatic hold on soft placental tissue to facilitate controlled traction during vaginal delivery or when manual removal is incomplete. It is suited for use by obstetricians, midwives, and delivery room teams where precise retrieval of placental tissue is required.
Design & Configuration
The curved shaft follows the natural uterine axis, allowing the operator to reach the placenta with improved visibility and ergonomics while keeping the hand clear of the maternal perineum. The 25 cm overall length balances reach and control in the vaginal canal. A 9.0 mm jaw aperture in the Figure 3 configuration is intended to cup and cradle placental tissue, reducing puncture or tearing compared with sharper or toothed tips.
