Clinical Application
Used in obstetric procedures to securely grasp, deliver, and retrieve the placenta and associated membranes following delivery. The instrument assists clinicians during manual extraction of retained placenta, controlled traction to facilitate placental separation and removal, and inspection or removal of placental fragments during postpartum management.
Design & Configuration
The curved geometry provides improved access and visualization within the uterine cavity and vaginal canal compared with a straight instrument, allowing the operator to approach the placenta with an offset shaft that reduces hand crossover and facilitates ergonomic traction. The 6.0 mm tip profile offers a relatively narrow contact area to engage placental tissue without broadly compressing surrounding anatomy, supporting controlled grasping and removal.
