Clinical Application
Used in obstetric procedures to grasp and deliver the placenta during vaginal delivery or cesarean section. The instrument provides a secure, broad contact surface for controlled traction during manual extraction of the placenta and for repositioning or removal of retained placental tissue. Its length and curvature are intended to allow access into the uterine cavity while maintaining a comfortable working distance for the operator.
Design & Configuration
The curved configuration facilitates reach to posterior and fundal areas of the uterus without excessive manipulation of the patient. A 15.0 mm jaw width offers a broad, atraumatic contact surface to distribute pressure and reduce focal stress on placental tissue. The Figure 5 pattern denotes a standard obstetric geometry designed to balance secure grip with minimized tissue trauma, and the 25 cm shaft length provides adequate reach for most delivery situations.
