Clinical Application
Designed to provide focused, atraumatic retraction of spinal nerve roots and dural elements during posterior spinal procedures. Commonly used in lumbar microdiscectomy, laminotomy, foraminotomy and other decompressive procedures where delicate manipulation and protection of the nerve root is required. The narrow profile allows the surgeon to create and maintain a working corridor while minimizing contact pressure on neural tissue.
Design & Configuration
The slim shaft and paddle-style atraumatic tip distribute retraction force across a broader surface to reduce focal pressure on neural structures. A 21 cm overall length gives adequate reach for most posterior lumbar and many thoracic approaches while keeping the instrument manageable in confined operative fields. The handheld geometry allows precise manual control for intermittent or sustained retraction and for fine adjustments during microsurgical work.
