Clinical Application

Designed for controlled separation of lamina and posterior spinal elements, this instrument provides temporary exposure during laminotomy, laminectomy and decompression procedures. It is used by spine and neurosurgeons to create and maintain a working corridor to the spinal canal and neural elements while minimizing direct pressure on bone and soft tissues.

Design & Configuration

The double-opposing blade configuration places blunt, broad contact surfaces between the laminae to distribute retraction force and reduce focal pressure on bone and dura. A 17 cm overall length provides sufficient reach for most posterior cervical, thoracic and lumbar approaches while allowing the surgeon and assistant to work outside the wound margin. The blade geometry facilitates gradual, controlled separation to optimize visualization and instrument access during bone removal and neural decompression.
