Clinical Application
Designed for atraumatic identification, isolation and controlled retraction of neural structures, the Dandy nerve hook is commonly used during cranial, spinal and peripheral nerve procedures as well as in ENT and reconstructive cases. The hooked tip enables the surgeon to lift or tension delicate tissue and adhesions with precision, improving visualization of nerve courses and facilitating safe dissection while minimizing direct traction on the nerve itself.
Design & Configuration
The instrument’s slender shaft and hooked working end provide fine, tactile feedback and allow access into narrow or deep surgical corridors. The blunt, curved hook engages tissue without sharp penetration, permitting controlled scooping or teasing motions to separate nerves from surrounding connective tissue. A 20 cm overall length gives additional reach for deeper exposures while maintaining the maneuverability required for microsurgical handling.
