Clinical Application
Used to provide temporary, atraumatic occlusion of intestinal segments during abdominal and colorectal procedures. The clamp controls luminal contents and minimizes contamination during resection, anastomosis, enterotomy repair, and stapling. Its straight geometry and extended length support access to deeper intra-abdominal and pelvic sites while maintaining gentle tissue handling for fragile bowel.
Design & Configuration
The straight 30 cm configuration gives clinicians reach into the pelvis and upper abdomen without excessive hand intrusion into the field, useful in open and some deep exposure situations. The Nussbaum-style occlusive jaws are shaped to distribute closing force across the bowel wall, reducing focal compression and helping preserve tissue perfusion while maintaining a reliable seal. A ratchet locking mechanism allows hands-free maintenance of occlusion during suturing or instrument exchanges.
