Clinical Application

This fenestrated intestinal clamp is designed for temporary occlusion and atraumatic handling of bowel during open gastrointestinal procedures. It is used to isolate segments of small or large intestine to control luminal contents and minimize contamination during resections, anastomoses, stoma formation, and other intra-abdominal operations where secure, controlled occlusion is required.

Design & Configuration

The straight shaft provides direct access along the length of the bowel in open procedures, while the fenestrated jaw design helps distribute clamping force over a broader surface to reduce focal crushing of the intestinal wall. The fenestration also allows visual confirmation of tissue positioning and can reduce compression of the serosa compared with solid-blade clamps. The geometry is chosen to balance secure occlusion with tissue preservation in contaminated or delicate fields.
