Clinical Application
Designed to provide atraumatic temporary occlusion of intestinal segments during abdominal surgery. Commonly used during bowel resection and anastomosis, stoma creation, and for isolation of contaminated segments to reduce spillage. The 25 cm length gives adequate reach for intra-abdominal and pelvic work while allowing precise placement on intestinal loops.
Design & Configuration
The curved shaft facilitates working around mesentery and other intra-abdominal structures, allowing the surgeon to approach the bowel along its natural arc. The Mayo-Robson pattern features fenestrated, atraumatic occluding jaws that distribute compressive force over a broader surface to reduce tissue crush while maintaining reliable lumen control. A standard ratchet closure provides graduated locking positions for controlled occlusion.
