Clinical Application
Designed for atraumatic occlusion and atraumatic handling of bowel, this instrument is used to temporarily isolate segments of small or large intestine during resections, anastomoses, stoma formation, and other open abdominal procedures. The fenestrated jaw geometry minimizes localized compression of the serosa and mucosa, reducing tissue trauma while maintaining a secure occlusion for intraoperative manipulation and suturing.
Design & Configuration
The long, narrow blade profile with broad, atraumatic fenestration distributes compressive force over a larger surface area of the bowel wall to protect delicate tissue. The length provides reach into the abdominal cavity while allowing the surgeon to clamp and hold bowel without excessive traction on mesentery. The fingertip control and smooth hinge action facilitate fine adjustments to clamping pressure and positioning.
Instrument Specifications
- Length: 18 cm
- Jaw type: Atraumatic fenestrated jaws to reduce point pressure on bowel
- Primary use: Temporary intestinal occlusion and atraumatic tissue handling
- Construction: Precision-machined stainless steel components for consistent jaw alignment
- Reusable design suitable for standard surgical instrument sets
Material & Construction
Constructed of surgical-grade stainless steel with a polished finish to resist corrosion and facilitate cleaning. Jaw surfaces are machined to provide a secure, atraumatic grip on intestinal tissue without penetrating or crushing the serosa. Designed for routine reprocessing and high-temperature sterilization consistent with reusable surgical instruments.
Quality & Compliance
Manufactured by FDA-registered OEM facilities and produced under strict quality control standards.
Brand Comparison
Comparable in form and function to equivalent instruments offered by major US medical suppliers.
