Clinical Application
Designed for atraumatic occlusion and manipulation of intestinal tissue, this smaller-profile Doyen pattern is used to temporarily isolate segments of bowel during resection, anastomosis, enterotomy repair, and other general or pediatric intestinal procedures. The atraumatic jaw surface minimizes luminal injury while providing secure, non-crushing control of delicate tissue.
Design & Configuration
The curved geometry improves visualization and access along the curvature of the bowel and within the abdominal cavity, allowing the operating surgeon to apply clamps parallel to the bowel axis without excessive tissue torsion. The baby (smaller) profile reduces bulk and permits more precise placement on narrow or delicate intestinal segments, which is particularly useful in pediatric cases or where tissue quality is tenuous.
