Clinical Application
Designed to atraumatically grasp tubular and fragile tissues, this Babcock-style tissue forceps is commonly used in general, colorectal, gynecologic, and laparotomy procedures. The fenestrated, atraumatic tip distributes contact pressure and minimizes crush injury when handling bowel, fallopian tubes, appendix, omentum, and other delicate structures during mobilization, retraction, and temporary stabilization.
Design & Configuration
The instrument features a classic Babcock loop configuration with a fenestrated, atraumatic jaw geometry and cross-serrations across the contact surface. The cross-serrations increase grip security on slippery tissues while avoiding penetrating teeth, preserving tissue integrity. A 20 cm shaft length provides reach suitable for open abdominal and pelvic procedures while maintaining tactile feedback through ring handles and a standard box-lock hinge.
