Clinical Application
Designed for controlled grasping and traction of the cervix and other soft tissue, this Pozzi tenaculum is used to stabilize the cervix during common gynecologic procedures such as IUD placement, dilation and curettage, colposcopy, loop electrosurgical excision procedures (LEEP) set-up, and other office or OR cervical manipulations. The pointed hook tips allow secure engagement of the cervical lip to provide reliable traction and exposure when applying sutures, dilators, or introducers.
Design & Configuration
The instrument features a classic ring-handle design with a box-lock hinge to provide controlled closure and tactile feedback. The Pozzi-style pointed hooks on each jaw are configured to penetrate superficial cervical tissue for a firm, non-slip hold. At 25.5 cm overall length, the shaft offers extended reach and leverage, useful for deeper vaginal access or when additional working distance is required. The simple, single-piece jaw geometry reduces snag points and facilitates one-handed repositioning under direct visualization.
