Clinical Application
This aspirating curette is designed to obtain small, intact tissue samples and to remove soft tissue or polypoid material while concurrently applying suction. Its 3 mm diameter tip is suited for targeted biopsies of superficial and submucosal lesions in confined cavities and along mucosal surfaces. Common procedural uses include sampling of mucosal lesions, small polypectomy/curettage, and targeted debulking in clinic-based ENT, dermatologic, and minor surgical procedures where preservation of specimen architecture is important.
Design & Configuration
The Novak pattern integrates a small circular cutting tip with an internal lumen to permit aspiration of tissue as it is cored. The 23 cm overall length provides reach into deeper cavities and narrow canals while maintaining tactile feedback. The compact 3 mm cutting diameter allows focused sampling with minimal collateral tissue disruption and facilitates retrieval of specimens directly into the instrument lumen for transfer to collection containers.
