Clinical Application
Provides atraumatic exposure of the vaginal canal and cervix for diagnostic and minor therapeutic gynecologic procedures. The deep blade geometry is intended to facilitate visualization and access to a more proximal cervix or to accommodate patients where a standard-length speculum does not provide sufficient reach. Common uses include cervical inspection, Pap smear collection, IUD insertion and removal, endocervical sampling, and minor in-office procedures under adequate lighting.
Design & Configuration
The instrument uses a two-blade (bivalve) design that separates and maintains the vaginal walls to create an unobstructed working channel. The "deep" configuration increases anterior–posterior reach compared with standard specula, allowing better exposure of the cervix in patients with a higher vaginal vault or when deeper access is clinically required. An adjustable opening mechanism permits controlled expansion and retention of the blades to maintain consistent exposure while the clinician works.
