Clinical Application
Designed for focused sampling of the cervix and endocervical canal, this curette is used to obtain diagnostic tissue during colposcopy, directed cervical biopsy, and minor gynecologic procedures. The 4.0 mm cutting rim provides a small, controlled specimen appropriate for targeted lesions and endocervical sampling where a narrower curette facilitates access and minimizes disruption to surrounding tissue.
Design & Configuration
The instrument features a ring-shaped cutting rim that excises tissue by scraping and rotational motion; the open center of the ring allows tissue to be cut cleanly. The configuration without an integrated basket means retrieved tissue is typically expelled from the tip or collected externally, which may be preferred when immediate visual assessment or transfer to pathology containers is required. The slender shaft geometry and modest rim diameter support access into the endocervical canal while helping limit collateral mucosal trauma.
Instrument Specifications
- Pattern: Kevorkian ring curette
- Configuration: without basket
- Tip: ring-shaped cutting rim
- Size: 4.0 mm
- Typical use: cervical and endocervical tissue sampling
Material & Construction
Constructed from surgical-grade stainless steel for strength, corrosion resistance, and repeated resterilization. The single-piece tip and shaft geometry provide durable cutting performance and allow routine cleaning and sterilization between procedures. Reusable construction supports long-term clinical use when maintained per facility protocols.
Quality & Compliance
Manufactured by FDA-registered OEM facilities and produced under strict quality control standards.
Brand Comparison
Comparable in form and function to equivalent instruments offered by major US medical suppliers.
